What better way to describe myself than through an image generated by AI, from a photo of my dog Smudge and I.

I asked for an image of us at work at our desk, looking out over Melbourne, that sums up my working knowledge across the different strands of an IT delivery program: analysis, design, build, test, iterate, operations and governance.

Getting the image took a number of iterations. Smudge looked great from the first take. Me? A George Clooney lookalike. That one was scrapped as an obvious and blatant hallucination, so I worked through several more. Perfect? Nope. Melbourne has gained some Oregon pines and mountains (which I love), the river bends where it shouldn't, and Flinders Street Station has gone. But Smudge is perfect, so I can live with it.

For me it sums up IT. You are always looking for perfection, and that is hard to hit. It certainly gets closer when you know how to put the pieces together. I have that base, and have worked on many successful migration and implementation programs, from large corporates to start-ups.
